Have you worked in Community Pharmacy but would like to start work in the hospital environment? If yes to any of these questions, then this could be the job for you!

Our current band 6 pharmacists say our NGH Pharmacy team are "so supportive and friendly", they are "inspired by their seniors" and "there are lots of opportunities to learn and grow".

You will be undertaking duties in various aspects of Pharmacy, providing Clinical Pharmacy Services to the wards and dispensary; optimising the safe and effective use of medicines in the Trust; whilst continuing todevelop your personal skills and knowledge in all aspects of Pharmacy and the Hospital Service.

*We are accepting applications from both qualified pharmacists, and pharmacist trainees who are due to sit the summer GPhC examination in 2023*

Main duties of the job

We have a very strong team ethos with good support from your peers and the senior pharmacists and technicians who understand you are learning and maybe working in a new environment. You will work closely with our team of clinical pharmacists and medicines management technicians who support our pharmacists on the wards and allow you to focus on the clinical part of the job. We are in the process of implementing electronic prescribing and medicines administration on all our inpatient wards. We work closely with the doctors and nurses on ward and board rounds and within multidisciplinary teams.

A strong team spirit and good communication will be required as well as a desire to have the patient's safety at the foremost of everything you do.

We would be delighted if you would like to come and visit the department and meet the team.
