It is an exciting time to join University Hospitals of Northamptonshire as we deliver our ambitious vision to become the most digital hospital group in England by July 2023.
As Head of Digital Transformation and Innovation you will join our newly formed Digital Senior Leadership Team to transform our hospitals through the delivery of digital programmes, making sure we are at the forefront of providing innovative digital systems to make things easier for our staff as well as allowing clinical research to thrive as set out in our ambitious Group Digital Strategy1.
We are currently procuring and implementing several major clinical systems across the group to include EPR, EPMA, EDMS and we have a national Centre of Excellence for RPA.
The digital transformation and innovation portfolio includes programme management and transformation, digital solution development, innovation, RPA and information assurance.

Main duties of the job
We have recently formed the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group, bringing together the constituent organisations of Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. We have agreed an ambitious Group Strategy 'Dedicated to Excellence' which sets out our strategic ambitions and priorities for the next five years. We have also launched our Group Digital Strategy1, which sets out our ambitions over next three years to become the most digital hospital in England by July 2023.

The post holder will be a senior management professional within UHN and be a lead enabler to the delivery of those ambitions.

- To operate as a key member of the Group Digital Portfolio senior management team which oversees the effective delivery of all services within the directorate and the delivery of all the directorates objectives and responsibilities
- Develop, lead and manage the delivery of the programmes associated with the Group Digital Strategy, which includes a number of projects or initiatives of significant size, complexity and risk ensuring that they do not have an adverse impact on patient care and quality
- To lead the Groups digital product development team, taking a multi-disciplinary team approach and use of user-led approaches
- Create and foster a culture of innovation, exploring emerging technology and its application to the UHN Group ambitions.
- Hold responsibility for the deliverables for all the Digital Transformation and Innovation teams including line management of service, staff and budget
- Leadership and line management, creating the environment for happy, motivated and highly-performing teams.
- Promote the adoption of agile methodologies across project teams and into the wider Group.
- Delivery of the Project Management Office (PMO) function on behalf of the Group Digital Portfolio, reporting regularly on project Programme performance, risk management and financial control.
