We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and service focused candidate to join the Medical Education team at Northampton General Hospital as Medical Education Administration Assistant.
This role provides vital support to the wider Medical Education team and requires a candidate with passion and drive to help the Medical Education Department to develop and excel.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and service focused candidate to join the Medical Education team at Northampton General Hospital as Medical Education Administration Assistant.
The successful candidate will need to have administration experience, good organisation skills, and hold the ability to work effectively and proactively as part of a team as well as alone.
You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally, and possess the ability to remain calm under pressure. You should be organised and able to deal positively with changing workload priorities.
You will need to be well motivated and a good communicator to promote and provide excellent delivery of the trusts Medical Education services, to both staff and visiting parties.
Excellent IT skills are vital, including a sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Package including Access and Excel. Full training will be provided on bespoke in-house IT systems.
The roles core operating hours are between 08:30 and 17:00, however working outside of these core hours maybe required with prior notice.

- General administrative duties
- Create reports for all undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the centre including course feedback in line with Leicester medical school and Health Education England (HEE).
- Maintain the databases for postgraduate doctors in training
- Effectively use a wide variety of computer programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) generating graphs, charts, diagrams and reports as and when required
- Support the Administration apprentice with general administration tasks
- Able to manage own time and work independently
- Contribute to own personal development ensuring statutory and mandatory training is attended
- Advise consultants, junior doctors and medical students, referring enquiries to the appropriate member of the Medical Education Team as necessary.
- Record use of room data on the Cripps PGMC activity database
- Produce registers and feedback forms for Departmental and Foundation teaching sessions
- Accurately record teaching attendance of medical students and doctors on the relevant databases
- Produce feedback summaries from postgraduate and undergraduate teaching sessions for the Consultant, Junior Doctors and other healthcare professionals including calculating percentage response rates
- Produce student induction folders
- Assist the Education coordinators in delivery of undergraduate and post graduate education administration
- Be willing to work outside of core hours at junior doctor inductions and other times, given reasonable notice.
