Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arised to join the general surgery and urology teams at Northampton General Hospital. We are significantly expanding our department and these new posts are designed to improve surgical training within the hospital. The hospital already has an excellent reputation for surgical training and the successful candidates will be fully supported. Specifically, they will have opportunity to complete alternative core competencies, obtain surgical exposure and partake in research activity. The successful candidates will participate in a 1 in 12 on call rota, with dedicated time for elective activity.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include the full range of clinical activities, operating lists, outpatient clinics,ward rounds, vascular and general surgical on call and supporting the emergencytheatres. Additionally, successful candidates will be supported in research and auditactivity. The trust has a strong medical education department with regular teachingfor core trainees and a tailored programme for international medical graduates.
