As a Registered Nurse at UHN, you will:

  • Deliver safe, holistic patient care that meets physical, psychological, and social needs, working within your competency

  • Act as a professional role model, demonstrating high standards of practice, communication and professionalism at all times.

  • Support the ward team by contributing to improvements in care and practice

  • Use clinical assessment tools and risk assessments to monitor patients, escalating concerns promptly to the multidisciplinary team.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers and colleagues, providing clear explanations, reassurance, and guidance throughout the care pathway

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in line with Trust, departmental, and NMC standards.

  • Understand and apply safeguarding procedures, to ensure patient safety.

  • Contribute to operational patient flow, including admissions, transfers, discharges, ward board rounds and safety huddles

  • Take responsibility for professional development, keeping NMC registration current and engaging with training, supervision, and feedback
