Job summary

To provide administrative support within a designated area and contribute to the effective running of the ward by concentrating on tasks which directly support administration systems and procedures.

Main duties of the job

To maintain the patient records/notes and other ward records using computer-based systems

To ensure patients demographics and other personal details is updated.

To complete the process and dispatch discharge notes and forward patient notes appropriately.

To use effective communication skills to answer the telephone according to the agreed standard and give the appropriate information as required.

To photocopy/scan documents as required

To ensure patient confidentiality at all times in line with the Trust Policy.

To assist in the induction and development of others by demonstrating own duties.

To undertake other ad hoc tasks to support the service needs.
