Endoscopy Waiting List Officer

Job summary
This is a fixed-term contract for 6-months.
A full time waiting list officer is required in the Endoscopy Unit. Hours of work are 37.5hours per week to be worked flexibly over five days as required by the service.
Applicants will be required to manage the Endoscopy waiting list, ensuring no patients exceeds the maximum wait time in line with local and national targets. They will ensure patients receive timely admission information, liasing with Nursing and Medical team where required.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills as they will be the central point of communication for all departments and staff regarding admission of Endoscopy patients. You must enjoy working as part of a team, but need to have the ability to use own initiative.
It is essential to possess excellent typing skills and knowledge of NHS systems, such as Careflow and Bluespier.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Office Manager the post holder will provide support with the selection and co-ordination of endoscopy patients. Their role will be to support the management of the admissions process in line with the Waiting List Policy and RTT standards.
The role will require the assurance that patients receive timely admission information, whilst liaising closely with the Nursing / and Medical staff where required.
They will need to act as the central point of communication for all departments and staff (internal and Trust wide) regarding the admission of endoscopy patients.
The post holder will work as a member of the Endoscopy Waiting List team liaising closely with the Bowel Screening Team; Endoscopy Reception Staff and the Endoscopy Service Manager to ensure that all Waiting List management and admission processes are in line with Trust policies.
