Job summary
Our refurbished stand alone Frank Radcliffe Orthopaedic & fracture clinic is currently looking for a band 5 qualified Plaster Technician to join our friendly team.
We are a busy environment and see over 25,000 patients per year. We currently treat a variety of Orthopaedic conditions including both elective & trauma pathways and we facilitate designated paediatric clinics.
Main duties of the job
To provide high quality, patient focused service for orthopaedic patients including paediatric and specialised casting such as close contact casts. To manage own time and provide effective leadership to the team as required, planning daily workload around both clinic, timetables and ward/theatre work, ensuring adequate staffing to meet service need and that the appropriate equipment is available at all times. The post holder will carry out a full range of plaster techniques, both routine and complex work. This is to include working with synthetics and functional bracing for both inpatient and outpatient. To contribute to designing and implementing a comprehensive training programme and assist with the continued development of the orthopaedic staff and services and the development of trainee technicians and healthcare assistants.
