Job summary
The opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Support Secretary within the Gastroenterology and Hepatology team.
This Role will require excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Audio typing skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are essential.
An understanding of medical terminology is desirable and previous experience of Medway is advantageous although not essential as training will be provided together with training on the Digital Dictation system.
Main duties of the job
- Undertake clinic typing as and when instructed by the team or relevant Medical Secretary.
- To help oversee and manage the unappointed/ forward look report ensuring Trust targets are adhered to.
- Ensure all typing is completed in line with the Medical Secretarial benchmarks and in the interests of patient care.
- Undertake other clerical duties as delegated by the team as and when required.
- Support the Medical Secretary in handling patient, GP and other general enquiries as instructed.
- Ensure all patient notes and reports are organised to enable prompt return to the filing section.
- Assist in meeting administrative targets for the Clinical Administrative Team and the Trust as a whole.
