Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who is looking to develop their skills across a highly operational service.

You will work within the senior leadership team in Trauma and Orthopaedics working in close partnership with the clinical and divisional management team.

Main duties of the job

You will support and continue to develop the Trauma and Orthopaedic performance which includes service management, achievement of targets /KPI's and support capacity and flow.

You should be able to demonstrate a commitment to improving patient experience and have the ability to communicate ideas clearly to both professionals and service users. If you are a hardworking, confident individual with excellent leadership skills, highly developed organisational skills, experience of effective budgetary management and service planning, we would like to hear from you.

  • Management degree/Post Graduate Diploma in Management or equivalent experience
  • Further specialist knowledge to Masters level equivalent

Knowledge/Experience

  • Relevant experience in a significant operational management post within the NHS
  • Significant experience of financial management, budget setting, monitoring and determining corrective actions
  • At least relevant experience of managing staff, including setting of team objectives, team and individual appraisal, recruitment and disciplinary issues
  • Evidence of report writing skills, service planning and presentation skills

Desirable

  • Proven track record of meeting significant national targets
  • Involved at a leadership level for issues related to clinical governance monitoring and standard setting, extending this into risk management and health and safety
