Are you a Health Care Assistant with experience of working with haemotology & oncology, chemotherapy or cancer patients? If not, do you hold an interest in doing so? Either way, an exciting opportunity has become available at Kettering general Hospital NHS Foundation Trust which could be just the role that you are looking for.Providing haematology services we have a haematology inpatient ward, outpatient treatment facilities and the recently developed acute malignant haemato-oncology outreach service. This provides both a varied nursing experience and opportunity to be involved in rewarding care provision to patients with both malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions as well as cancer diagnosis.Prior experience of working within haematology and oncology would be beneficial however it is not essential as full support and trainingwill be provided. The role encompasses inpatient ward shift working alongside outreach service shifts to support the operational running of the service. Of most importance is for the post holder to be enthusiastic, motivated, a team player and committed to providing excellent standards of care.

- NVQ /QCF Level 3 Qualification
- One year as apprentice healthcare support worker/assistant experience-minimum 1 year
- Ability to overcome communication barriers
- Experience of working as part of a team
- To demonstrate accuracy and clarity in verbal, written and electronic communication in relation to own work.
- Knowledge and basic understanding of Information Governance and information storage.
- Able to prioritise attention to patients in accordance with defined protocols and delegation from RN
- Hand/ eye co-ordination
- Knowledge of physical and psychological care duties
- Concentrate on the care of patient on a routine basis
- Ability to treat all employee and other hospital information confidentially
