Job summary
As a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse you will be required to work very closely with the Ward Sister to support the ward team delivering a high standards of evidence based care to our patients.
As nurse in charge you will be required to have a clinical overview of the ward, support the ward team, co-ordinate shifts and have a good knowledge and understanding of operational pressures.
There will be a requirement to fulfill some of the day to day management tasks as part of your role.

Digestive Diseases Unit (DDU) is an acute Gastroenterology/Medical 20 bedded ward, with also a Nurse led outpatient clinic attached which allows patients with gastro related conditions such as Crohn's/Ulcerative Colitis, IBD, liver patients to be treated, preventing patient admission. The outpatients clinic also serves as a safety net to enable the consultant to review patients who are discharged from the main ward if the need requires.
You will be required to have a high level of knowledge around capacity and clinical governance. Expertise and a sound knowledge in the day to day care and management of all patients admitted to the ward coupled with working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to assist with safe discharges from the hospital setting. Working within this fast paced environment will provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate your clinical, managerial and leadership skills.
