We are looking to recruit a Deputy sister to join our established team.

In this role you will provide clinical leadership to the nursing team, working closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for ensuring patients are discharged safely.This role would suit a senior band 5 who is looking for a career progression and a new challenge and can demonstrate some experience with ward management. There is an expectation to perform various initiatives and participating in teaching, audits and staff appraisals.You should be able to demonstrate a good range of experience evidence that you have skills in the coordination of care, typically through Nurse in Charge or Shift Leader Competencies.

Alongside an internal leadership development program we also link with local Universities and the East Midlands and NHS Leadership Academy. We actively encourage continual professional development and the implementation of new ideas which promote excellent patient care. Alongside leadership development we also have access to a vast range of clinical development modules related to the specialty.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will provide clinical leadership to the nursing team, working closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for ensuring patients are discharged safely.You will support the ward sister and other Deputy sisters in the ward environment and the surgical managementteam. You will work as a ward co-ordinator supporting staff, managing patient flow and discharges. You will beexpected to undertake quality improvement initiatives, roster management, complete incidents and othermanagement tasks as required
