Job summary
This is a developmental role wherebyas a trainee you will work towards progression into the post of Nursing Associate through successful completion of the 2 year Nursing Associate training programme. This includes the attainment of a level 5 Foundation Degree equivalent qualification.You will develop and maintain knowledge, skills and competencies related to the role of Nursing Associate within the service which includes working in care settings and delivery of person-centered care.

An exciting opportunity for career progression has arisen in Kettering General Hospital, as we will be undertaking our 9th cohort of trainee Nursing Associates to commence in May 2024.

Please be aware you cannot be on a flexible working contract during this programme in order to facilitate your learning and meet NMC requirements
Planned assessment day/interviews are to be held in PWEC centre on 9th March 2024 with the programme of study to start w/c 20th May

About us
It is a work based learning programme where you will have exposure to caring for patients from infants to the elderly through your placement experience. This programme is fully funded through the Apprenticeship levy.

- GCSEs Grade A-C in Maths and English or key skills level 2 in Maths and English
- Demonstrable ability to study at Level 5 Diploma of Higher Education Level and commit to completing the Foundation Degree programme
- Essential induction training and experience - care certificate or equivalent
Knowledge/Experience
Essential
- Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
- Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
- Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of the workload and individual patient contact
- Ability to move between sites working across health and social care as required by the needs of the development programme
