This role serves patients and visitors by greeting, welcoming and directing them appropriately, together with answering the telephone enquiries both internally and externally. Main duties of the job
Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle all requests received at the Main Entrance Reception
- Direct and assist patients, staff, and visitors to all areas of the hospital when requested, using effective forms of communication.
- Handle telephone enquiries received from personnel and patients/visitors.
- Utilise the Main hospital system for tracking of patients.
- Assist in the ordering of taxis for patients, authorised personnel and courier services always adhering to the Trust policy and procedures.
- Keep a comprehensive record of taxi bookings.
- Collate and reconcile all invoices received i.e. taxi, fuel and repair costs, recharging invoices.
- Assist in collecting and sorting residential post.
- Ensure the reception desk is clean and tidy at all times.
- Report faults on public telephones, lifts, automatic doors and other maintenance issues within the reception vicinity.
- To provide administration and clerical support to the team as and when required.
- Attend training sessions as and when directed by management.
- Committed to developing own skills and assist in training and development of others.
- Observe all instructions regarding policies and procedures of departments and Trust
- Always observe confidentiality (patients, visitors, personnel or any trust details)
