Consultant Colorectal Surgeon
Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust would like to invite applications for a new substantive consultant post in Colorectal Surgery.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our dynamic and progressive surgical team. The post is a replacement full-time post for a Consultant in General Surgery with a special interest in Colorectal Disease to join our team of General Surgeons with interests in Colorectal, Endocrine, benign Upper GI and Day Case surgery.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to work within a multidisciplinary team to provide management of elective and emergency colorectal disease including both benign and malignant conditions and to support the General Surgery emergency service.
The appointee should be a fully trained colorectal surgeon with experience of laparoscopic colorectal surgery and the diagnosis and management of patients with colorectal diseases. In addition to responsibilities for the provision of a comprehensive service for colorectal disease, the appointee will have a commitment in general surgery and will take part in the emergency rota for general surgery. JAG accredited training in endoscopy would be desirable.

- Full GMC Registration
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT, CESR, CESR(CP) or European Community Rights
- The proposed CCT/CESR(CP) date must be within 6 months of interview
Desirable
- An appropriate higher ("General Surgery") surgical qualification
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Extensive training and experience in General Surgery and evidence of training to include Colorectal Surgery including laparoscopic skills and management of benign and malignant conditions
- Clinical experience - equivalent to that required for CCST
- 10 years Postgrad Experience
