The Research department at KGH is keen to embed interventional clinical trials and observational studies as part of their clinical routine. Whilst this is challenging, it is a great opportunity to improve professional development for nurses who wish to pursue a future career in research.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and well organized Research Nurse to gain experience in multiple specialties while continuing on study set-up and finance management.
The post will work alongside research delivery staff to deliver commercial and non-commercial studies for patients from various specialties.
Research experience is desirable and willingness to learn and be involved in patient facing role as well as financial and portfolio management is essential. Training and career development opportunities are available for the suitable candidate in this friendly and dynamic organization which strives for excellence in delivery best patient care.
Main duties of the job
- Undertake specialist training to ensure compliance with clinical trials regulatory frameworks and demonstrate expert knowledge of clinical process and related issues
- Be accountable for own professional actions work autonomously without direct supervision, collaborate with and report directly to Consultants
- Demonstrate specialised knowledge relevant to area of practice.
- Develop and provide highly specialised nursing packages of care using specialist advice and technical skills to provide continuity of care and a point of contact for patients and relatives throughout the patients' illness.
- Assume responsibility for continuous education by attending related workshops, seminars, conferences and courses as well as keeping up to date on current publications
- Present at local and national conferences, seminars and courses and keep professionally and clinically up to date.
7. Identify personal educational and managerial development needs associated with participation in current clinical trials and ensure these are effectively communicated to the line manager, Research & Development, participating in the development of an agreed personal development plan to meet identified needs.
