Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to join the Radiology team. Based at Corby Urgent Care Centre the postholder will provide support for patients and the clinical team in the X-ray Department. There may occasionally be the opportunity to rotate within the X-Ray department at Kettering General Hospital.

Working at Corby will involve working with a small team of HCAs, a radiographer/sonographer and admin staff. Throughout the day you will also liaise with other staff within the Corby urgent care centre. Daily duties will include assisting the radiographer in the x-ray room with the equipment and assisting the patient when required. It will also include booking the patients in on the computer system for their x-ray or scan.

When rotating to KGH you would be working alongside our large team of radiographers, nurses, admin staff and consultants. Each day will be different as we respond to emergency pressures within the hospital so it is essential that the post holder is flexible in their approach to work.

The job differs from a traditional ward-based HCA post. A large proportion of work at KGH will include chaperoning during ultrasound examinations.
