SALARY RANGE: BAND 4

The opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Medical Secretary within the Dermatology Department within a very dynamic team. This Role will require excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. Audio typing skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are essential. An understanding of medical terminology is desirable and previous experience of Medway is advantageous although not essential as training will be provided together with training on the Digital Dictation system.The informal contact details contained in this advert are for enquiry purposes only.CV's are not accepted for this position

The post that you are applying for involves access to children and/or vulnerable adults as defined by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). It will therefore be necessary to apply to the CRB for a Disclosure Check. This post requires a satisfactory Disclosure check of the post holder.

  1. To provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the Consultant and his/her team.
  2. To assist in the organisation of the Consultants workload.
  3. To liaise with other departments and clients.

Main duties of the job

- Ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard, and in accordance with current quality initiatives within the area of work and the Trust Equal Opportunities Policy.

- Have a commitment to identifying and minimising risk, report all incidents and report to manager any risks which need to be assessed.- Any other duties commensurate with the grade and in line with the requirementof the post.
