Job summary

Do you have an interest in radio and media? Kettering General Hospital is looking for volunteers to join its KGH Radio team.

Summary:

To devise, plan, resource and deliver programme(s) as agreed with the Radio Station Trustees in accordance with the organisation's constitution.

The duties and responsibilities listed are not intended to be exhaustive but are set out to indicate the main areas of activity currently undertaken by a volunteer. Volunteers are asked to adopt a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

  • Agree structure of programmes with trustees, programmes to be run to time for handover to next presenter (live or pre-recorded). Presenters must not overrun their programme time slot.
  • Source material for delivery of their programmes.
  • Ensure that the programme content complies with public decency and legal standards.
  • Use the Stations 'social media' to publicise programmes and other Station activities only.
  • Ensure safe operation of the Studio whilst broadcasting and reporting any problems to the designated technical managers.
  • Refer enquirers to appropriate members of staff if they need further help.
  • Report any untoward incidents within the hospital site.
  • Assist staff in supporting and directing patients/visitors in a major incident.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality at all times including adhering to the General Dat Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Attend relevant refresher/training sessions as directed.
  • Adhering to the guidelines/procedures of keeping a safe and clean environment Presenter / producers must speak respectfully with all KGH radio members, whether presenters, administrators, Trustees, or technical managers.
