Job summary

Are you a very experienced NHS contract or commissioning manager looking for a new challenge? The University Hospitals of Northamptonshire Group is seeking a dynamic Group Head of Commissioning and Contracting who will be responsible for the Group portfolio of healthcare contracts, including those held as Lead Provider for the Elective Care Collaborative.

WHO WE ARE:

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust (NGH) and Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KGH) formed a hospital Group; University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group (UHN). You will work as the Group Head of Commissioning and Contracting and report to the Group Director of Integration and Partnerships. You will lead an established team of contract management professionals who work across both Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting time to join a team that are striving to deliver integrated care and strong partnerships both across the Group and the system, joining up pathways of care across organisational boundaries.

The Group Head of Commissioning will take overall responsibility for the commissioning and contracting function within the Group, providing specialist expertise and leadership for significant workstreams, including the development of the commissioning and contracting framework for the Elective Care Collaborative on behalf of the Group. Group Head of Commissioning lead an existing team to support operational and clinical teams in the specification of services, works with governance, procurement, finance and quality teams to ensure the effective contracting for services, and establishes robust performance, quality and contract management arrangements for services.

  • Evidence of continuing professional development
