Role : Sterile Services Department Technician
Band 2 - Full time 37.5hrs pw (You will be required to participate with On call)
Post - 15:00 to 23:00 Monday to Friday
On-call - Midnight Friday to 7am Monday (1 in 20)
Kettering General Hospital is looking to recruit an SSD Technician within our existing Sterile Services Department.
As such an opportunity is available for an SSD Technician to be part of the team providing the decontamination and sterilization service to our consultants and patients. Your main responsibility is to ensure that you decontaminate/sterilise medical equipment and work as part of the team reprocessing all surgical instruments for Theatres and wards to the highest standards assisting the surgical teams and ensuring patient safety.
Ideally you will have previous SSD experience dealing with instrument reprocessing and demonstrate a good understanding of decontamination standards and practice, however no experience is necessary as full training is provided. You must be able to work under pressure, demonstrate good communication skills and have excellent organisational ability.
Once trained you will be required to participate with On call (1 in 20).
Main duties of the job
The Duties of the Sterile Services Technician is to assist in the safe process ofdecontamination and sterilisation of medical devices and surgical instruments through-out the Hospital and external customers
To comply, maintain and uphold all aspects of Decontamination Compliance ISO13485:2016 relevant to your grade and position
