Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time (22.5 hours), permanent, Band 7 Advanced Speech and Language Therapist to work in the Community Children & Young People's Service (CYPS) in Northumberland.
We are seeking applications from registered Speech and Language Therapists with experience of working within mental health and/or learning disability services. We are interested in appointing a dedicated and committed individual that possesses a desire to work with children and young people and who can demonstrate their ability to engage and work collaboratively with others and understand complex systems to support effective pathways.
CYPS provides a single service to all children and young people aged 0-18 years living in Northumberland. This includes children and young people who may be living in difficult and challenging circumstances. The post will work across the neurodevelopmental, mental health and learning disability pathways and the successful candidate will be a core member of the multi-disciplinary assessment team.
Main duties of the job
You will provide advanced SALT assessment, intervention and recommendations for children and young people accessing these pathways. You will work as an integral member of the CYPS MDT and support the SALT provision in the service going forward.
You should have qualifications and experience relevant in this clinical field and work well as part of a close team with the ability to work independently. You will liaise closely with fellow professionals to address communication difficulties as part of a holistic, service user centred service. You will be confident in providing high quality, evidence-based assessments and interventions and possess excellent communication and organisational skills.

- Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses/CPD to Masters level equivalence
- Post graduate level qualification relevant to area of specialism
