Job summary
An exciting opportunity is currently available for an Advanced Occupational Therapist within North Cumbria Adult Eating Disorder Service. We are a specialist community adult eating disorder team with a mixture of disciplines, and we are currently looking for a passionate and enthusiastic team member to join us. We work in a community setting, and are a goal orientated, and patient focussed team. We strive to improve and embrace change to deliver the best outcomes for our patients and their carers.
Main duties of the job
As an Advanced Occupational Therapist within our team you will complete assessment, analysis, treatment and evaluation of patients with eating disorders.
You will work in collaboration with the senior leaders to provide direction for the team embracing change and developing the service.
You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to provide patient focussed, goal orientated and evidence based practice.
You will provide supervision and complete appraisals for team members.
You will be involved in service development and take an active role in in-service training.

Education and Qualifications

- Recognised Occupational Therapy degree or equivalent. HCPC Registered
- Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses and other relevant CPD to Masters level equivalence
- Post graduate level qualifications
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
- Experience of providing clinical supervision and support to clinical staff.
- Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and RCOT standards and other local and national initiatives
- Awareness of equal opportunities legislation and policies.
- Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines.
- Proven ability to manage a clinical caseload in a flexible manner as required.
Desirable
- Deliver NICE guideline therapies e.g. MANTRA, SSCM, CFT
Skills and Competencies

- Proven ability to carry out and provide comprehensive written assessments of individuals with complex needs.
- Demonstrate an understanding of effective & appropriate treatment options including a range of evidence based clinical approaches as identified in N.I.C.E. Guidance).
- Risk Assessment and Risk Management / Safety Planning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Evidence of high level of professional organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure
