Job summary

We are pleased to invite application for a Recovery and Engagement Coordinator within a busy woodwork department at Northgate, the workshop focuses on supporting patients to develop woodwork and craft skills in a safe, secure environment.

This role is based at Northgate Park, assisting in the coordination and delivery of recovery focused courses within the Recovery and Engagement Team.

Applicants will require a Level 4 or equivalent qualification in construction/bench joinery as well as a nationally recognised teaching and assessing qualification for adults, also applicants will need experience working within a workshop environment.

The broad remit of the role involves working with patients with a Learning Disability and/or Autism, Mental Health as well patient with Personality Disorder.

Main duties of the job

Coordinate and deliver course within the woodwork department.

To teach and support patients in basic bench joinery and woodwork skills as well as bespoke sessions around construction and DIY , giving them the skills they need to support meaningful work placements following discharge.

Support the head of department in developing and facilitating sessions for patients within secure care.
