Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Northumberland Children and Young Peoples Service (CYPS) based at St Georges Park, Morpeth. The successful post holder will be a member of the admin team to support the multi-disciplinary clinical team to provide a comprehensive, high quality administrative service at all times.
Northumberland CYPS consists of 5 outreach bases throughout Northumberland.
The Pathways within the Service are Mental Health & Learning Disability, and Neurodevelopmental. The post holder will work closely with the Admin Team Lead, Pathway Co-ordinators, wider admin team and clinical staff on a day to day basis.
The post is part time, predominantly 0900-1700hrs, but the post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility in role in order to meet the needs of the service 08:00 to 20:00 which at times include travel to provide cover at other bases in Alnwick, Hexham, Blyth, Morpeth.
You will be required to work on a rota or as and when needed into late clinics in any of our bases. These shifts will be planned fairly with all staff members with expenses paid for any travel from your substantive base to meet service need.
Main duties of the job
You will undertake a variety of admin duties as assigned by the Admin Team Lead/Pathways Coordinators/ Admin Manager and Clinical Managers.
The post holder must facilitate excellent customer service and be confident in dealing with service users face to face as well as on the telephone.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate proven 12 month experience in the following administration skills that are required for this post.
- Experience in a customer/patient focused environment
- Experience in Administration/Secretarial post
- A good understanding of inputting data to a database system (RIO)
- A good working knowledge ofMicrosoft applications, including e-mail communication
- Fast, accurate typing/keyboard skills,
- Note/minute taking skills and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be self-directed, motivated and be able to contribute positively within a team
- Well organised and structured
- Use own initiative, work under pressure and keep to strict deadlines
- Ability to be self-directed, motivated and be able to contribute positively within a team
- The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility in the role in order to meet the needs of the service.
- The post holder will be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with possible exposure to highly distressing or highly emotional circumstances and will be expected to ensure they participate on all relevant training courses appropriate to the role.
