Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 4 Assistant Practitioner role working in the Intensive Day Service at Benfield House and in the Intensive Day Service at Home pathway.

We are looking for a motivated and driven person, who has experience of working with people with mental health difficulties and in particular those with eating disorders. This post involves working closely with the occupational therapists and MDT to ensure patient care and service delivery is of a high quality.

Training and ongoing support will be provided to facilitate the successful candidate in their role.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to assist in the assessment, formulation and delivery of interventions under the direction of a registered practitioner.

This role will involve working directly with patients to implement and support their therapy programmes.

The post holder will work across the IDS pathway, which includes supporting individuals in their own homes and local environments.

Education and Qualification

Essential

  • Foundation degree in applied social studies or alternative (NVQ/BTEC/QCF) with additional training to diploma level equivalent in the speciality field.
  • Have experience of working with service users with complex health needs (designated by the service)

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with individuals with communication difficulties
  • Experience of facilitating group and 1:1 activity
  • Experience of working in mental health settings
  • Understanding of the boundaries of an assistant practitioner role
  • Experience of working in the community

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • IT literate
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
