Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Pathway Manager to lead and coordinate care across our children's mental health pathway in Newcastle and Gateshead CYPS. This is a pivotal role ensuring children and young people experience smooth, efficient access to the care they need.
The Role:As Pathway Manager, you will oversee the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of care pathways for children and young people accessing mental health services. Working closely with clinical teams, commissioners, and community partners, you will help shape and monitor the effectiveness of services that respond to a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and psychological needs.
Main duties of the job
Whilst the Pathway Manager post can be a busy one, it is also a highly rewarding one, ensuring services are as effective, safe and responsive as they can be. The post holder will need to be flexible in their approach to supporting the day to day operational management and clinical support of the service and staff well-being.
The successful candidate will be fully supported by the collective leadership team in relation to any development requirements including training, supervision, appraisal and coaching/mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead on the planning, coordination, and monitoring of mental health care pathways.

Ensure pathways align with national guidelines, local strategies, and the voices of children and families.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care.

Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or delays in service delivery and implement improvement plans.

Analyse data and feedback to evaluate performance and inform service development.

Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding pathway issues.

Support transition planning between child and adult mental health services.
