Job summary
EXCITING OPPORTUNITY WITHIN NORTHUMBERLAND CYPS The Children and Young People's Service provide an integrated service for children with persistent, moderate to severe mental health concerns, who have received a previous targeted intervention from other services and have shown little or no improvement.
We deliver a wide range of evidence based interventions through clearly defined care pathways. Development opportunities can be accessed via our comprehensive internal training programme. We have a robust supervision structure for staff, alongside peer support.
Our Mental Health pathway undertakes assessment and intervention to children and young people with complex mental health needs, including anxiety, low mood, self-harm and trauma. Clinicians will work within a collaboratively care planned approach, should be able to work autonomously and within a multi- disciplinary team.
We are keen to recruit clinicians with experience in working with children and young people, and who can work collaboratively with partner agencies.
Main duties of the job
Carrying a complex caseload of young people requiring therapeutic interventions.
Provide training and clinical supervision/support to the wider team.
Attendance at multi agency meetings and risk management group.
Support with transition work and audits as appropriate. Linking in with parent, carers and other partners

Essential
- Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
- Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as, a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent as an AHP, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist
- Evidence of post-registration training in clinical/ psychological interventions / skills relevant to the post.
- Up-to-date knowledge/experience of relevant legislation.
Desirable
- Experience working with Children's Mental Health
- Experience of working in the community
- Trained and experienced in evidence based therapy
