Job summary
The Northern Region Gender Dysphoria Team are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join their service.
The Northern Region Gender Dysphoria Service (NRGDS) is a national service offering assessment and treatment for people with gender dysphoria. The Service offers psychologically informed medical care, voice and communication therapy, as well as onward referrals for gender affirming surgeries and hair reduction.
Working alongside the multi-professional team, the post holder will support them in their management of the patient pathway, ensuring all necessary information and resources are available in a timely manner, and that administrative information flows without repetition or delay.
Please note you must have experience as a Medical Assistant in CNTW/ working currently as a Medical Assistant to apply for this post.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- capture and manage patient information live - during consultations - on the relevant IT systems
- prepare clinical documentation under the supervision of the lead clinician in line with Trust policy
- work with service users on the pathway
- provide data and information to improve, inform and support delivery of care
The post holder will have experience in a Medical Assistant post in CNTW or will be currently in a Medical Assistant post in CNTW
The post holder will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and should be able to work well within a team.
The post holder will be educated to a degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience working at a similar level in specialist area .
The post holders are required to have word processing skills at Level 3 (or equivalent), and a working knowledge of Microsoft packages and patient information systems (RiO). An audio typing qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience and note taking skills are desirable.
