Job summary

OpCourage North of England are a collaborative of providers delivering Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing services to Veterans and their families across the North of England.

CNTW is the lead provider of the service made up of 5 clinical teams spread across the region.

We are looking to recruit a motivated and experienced mental health clinician to our central Single Point of Access Team.

Main duties of the job

The OpCourage Single Point of Access is designed to provide a smooth and seamless entry point for Veterans to access mental health and wellbeing services across the North of England, to promote ease of access and promote consistency and management of referrals coming into the service.

Clinicians within the Single Point of Access will start a holistic triage and assessment process, designed to identify and understand the mental health and wellbeing needs of veterans in the North of England.

Clinicians will utilise their skills and experience to quickly establish a rapport and build trust with Veterans seeking support for their difficulties, identifying and appropriately managing risk whilst recognising and supporting Veterans with the often unique challenges they experience.

The primary function of the OpCourage North of England Single Point of Access is to reduce barriers to accessing services, early identification of need and ensure appropriate onward pathways, whether within OpCourage North or England or supporting access to alternative organisations and/or services.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as, a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN)
  • Evidence of post-registration training in clinical/ psychological interventions / skills relevant to the post.
  • Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
  • Preceptorship training
  • Training in CPA (Care Programme Approach), Safeguarding, MAPPA (Multi Agency Panel for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults) and Child Protection.
  • Up-to-date knowledge/experience of relevant legislation.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of key concepts of psychological formulation and holistic mental health assessment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Veterans specific mental health and wellbeing challenges.
