We are pleased to invite applicants for CNTW's Specialty doctor/Specialist Portfolio Pathway Fellowship Programme for adult or older adult specialist registration. This is a structured scheme which provides suitably experienced doctors with the opportunity to develop the specialist curriculum competencies required to submit an application for GMC Specialist Registration via Portfolio Pathway route in their chosen subspecialty. The Specialist Registration with the GMC is recognition of the doctor as a specialist in the specific area.
Please note, you must submit a CV alongside your application form. The CV should also highlight experience that may be of relevance to a future Portfolio Pathway application. Please submit this to MedicalRecruitment@cntw.nhs.uk once your application form has been submitted online.
If you are shortlisted, you will also be required to submit a portfolio of 5 anonymized clinical letters including new assessments or tribunal reports showcasing your work over the past 6 months to MedicalRecruitment@cntw.nhs.uk by 19th September 2024.

Main duties of the job
Within the scheme, the Portfolio Pathway fellow will usually rotate within clinical posts as needed to satisfy curriculum requirements for Specialist registration in their chosen specialty. The posts will usually last one year each (two years in the community and up to one year in an inpatient setting), but this is dependent on the individual's previous experience and developmental needs. This will be discussed following appointment where a bespoke plan will be developed.
Successful applicants will have 2 SPAs to work on their Portfolio Pathway competences and 0.25 SPA to attend the post graduate medical education sessions and complete appraisal requirements.
The programme will actively support the fellow to identify and take up the opportunity to act up into a consultant post once they have achieved appropriate competencies and submitted their Portfolio Pathway application.
The post comes with a study leave budget as well as educational and clinical supervision.
