Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and innovative R&D team as a Research Grants and Contracts Coordinator. This role will suit an enthusiastic and motivated individual with experience of research grant funding and its contractual requirements.
Main duties of the job
To lead on the preparation of financial aspects of research grant applications with the R&D Manager and finance department in compliance with guidance from a range of funders e.g. NIHR, collating costs from multiple external organisations and ensuring appropriate finance authorisation is obtained. This will be done to very tight deadlines.
To ensure appropriate contracting with collaborating sites is completed at the start of the project both for projects led by CNTW and external organisations, and that contracts are reviewed and updated throughout the project should amendments be required relating to financial and other matters.
Where CNTW is the sponsor organisation, work closely with the finance department on the financial oversight of recording and reporting of accurate expenditure, invoicing and receipt of income for own organisation and collaborating sites. This is in line with agreed research contracts including completion of National Institute of Health Research annual ASTOX returns to the Department of Health.
To check and ensure invoices being sent to CNTW are in line with agreed contractual financial schedules and that any discrepancies are identified, queried, and resolved in a timely manner. This will involve using judgement and local and national intelligence across multiple sites and multiple cost centres to maximise efficiency of funding, enabling the R&D manager, Chief Investigator and finance department to ensure that contractual obligations are upheld.

To support the management of the Local Clinical Research Network budget including preparation of Annual Financial Plans, forecasting, and completion of quarterly and annual returns.
To promote at all times a positive image of the Research and Development Department and the wider Trust.
