Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the South Tyneside & Sunderland Early Intervention in Psychosis Community Team. The team ensures the systematic provision of evidence-based bio-psychosocial interventions to individuals who experience a first episode of Psychosis. The post holder will carry out occupational therapy assessment and treatment under the direction of a senior Occupational Therapist. Working within an experienced and highly motivated clinical team you will be part of a service engaged in ensuring the best possible practice in contemporary mental health care. Your job role will be to provide assessment and treatment to service users and their families, whilst working collaboratively with other professionals.
A professional registration is needed for the role of Band 5 Occupational Therapist.
Main duties of the job
To provide occupational therapy service to service users who have a variety of occupational therapy needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions under the direction of a more experienced member of Occupational Therapy staff.
To be allocated as lead professional, manage and provide ongoing assessment and intervention for service users.
To consider carer needs and ensure carer and family are involved in intervention planning where appropriate.
To develop and deliver evidenced based Occupational Therapy interventions in collaboration with service users and carers where appropriate.
The post holder will work as a member of the Multi-disciplinary Team ensuring that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensure safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximising independence.
Coordinate Treatment Planning & Interventions, Reviews and Discharge Planning.
