Job summary
Newcastle Treatment & Recovery (NTaR) currently have a Band 6 vacancy for an experienced professional to work part time (18.,75 hours per week) in a service offering support to children and young adults experiencing substance misuse difficulties. The job sits in Newcastle Treatment and Recovery Service based at Plummer Court Newcastle.
Main duties of the job
This post sits within the Children and Young Adults Team (CAYA) and the post holder will deliver clinical based interventions to a caseload of patients aged 24 and under who require support to achieve recovery from substance use.
Provide specialist clinical advice to Service Users/Carers, staff, statutory agencies, 3rd sector partner agencies and the public.
In collaboration with the Service User and Carer where appropriate, develop Recovery and Wellbeing focused Care Plans, ensuring regular reviews to monitor progress and adapt Care Plan as necessary.
The post holder will have a professional qualification; Registered Nurse (RMN /RGN/ RNMH or RNLD) or Social Work. The post holder will have post registration clinical experience in addictions services, excellent interpersonal skills and understand the importance of engagement with not only the client but their care givers and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Most reviews will be undertaken off site, in schools, the patients home and care homes. This is not a hybrid role and you will be expected to attend Plummer Court on your working days.
Due to the nature of this role a car driver is essential

- Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as, a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent as an AHP, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist
- Mentor Training.
- Evidence of post-registration training in clinical/ psychological interventions / skills relevant to the post.
- Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
