Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist to join the Memory and Later Life Psychology Service in North Cumbria. The service provides specialist psychological assessment and intervention for older people with cognitive impairment and or/ associated age-related mental health difficulties.
The post holder will assist in the continued development of the multi-professional diagnostic pathway and provide a specialist neuropsychology service and clinical leadership within this pathway.
The post holder will also be responsible for professional leadership and governance of the older adult psychology team in the Memory and Later Life Service in North Cumbria. This team consists of clinical psychologists, psychological therapists, mental health well-being practitioners and assistant and trainee clinical psychologists.
The post holder will be an experienced Clinical Psychologist with experience of professional governance and leadership. The post holder will be expected to carry out complex neuropsychological assessments to aid the diagnosis of dementia and will be on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
Main duties of the job
To develop and provide clinical leadership in the multi-professional diagnostic pathway.
To provide an expert neuropsychology service to aid the diagnosis of dementia.
To deliver dementia diagnosis to patients and post-diagnostic support.
To provide professional leadership and governance of the older adult psychology team in the North Cumbria Memory and Later Life Service.
