Job summary
We are delighted invite applications for three B5 Higher Assistant Psychologist posts in the PICU, acute, and rehabilitation inpatient pathways in the South Locality. The successful post-holders will be based at Hopewood Park, Ryhope, Sunderland where there is dedicated shared office space. This exciting opportunity has arisen because of the success of two of the current post-holders gaining places on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate training course starting in the autumn.
Each of the posts are split across two wards enabling the successful candidates to gain a broad range of experience. The allocation of service areas will be made by taking into account the skills and experience the successful candidates bring to the role. The preferences of the successful candidates will also be considered where ever possible.
The board remit of the roles involves working as an essential part of multidisciplinary ward-based teams using a biopsychosocial model. The post holders will receive weekly clinical supervision from a designated qualified member of the psychology team.
The interviews are scheduled for the week beginning 2nd September 2024.
Main duties of the job
The post holders' main duties are to assist the qualified member of the psychology team in the delivery of psychological services in the pathway.
The post holders will support the formulation process and provide specialist psychologically informed assessments and interventions.
The post holders will produce professional assessment and intervention reports.
The post holders will support the service in the delivery of training initiatives.
The post holders will utilise research skills for audit, literature reviews, service development, and other research initiatives within the pathway or the wider service.
The post holders will show initiative to work independently to an appropriate level.
The post-holders will provide compassionate care that is based on empathy,kindness, respect, and dignity.
