Job summary
We are looking to appoint either a Psychological Therapist or a Clinical Psychologist to work within the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Team, based in the Centre for Specialist Psychological Therapies at Benfield House.
The appointee will work within a multi-disciplinary team offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for service users with complex presenting problems.
The work involves providing an assessment/consultation service and individual therapy.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will also contribute to CBT based outreach activities such as training, supervision, advice and consultation in accordance with service needs.
The post holder will have experience of working with a range of mental health difficulties relevant to the post e.g. trauma, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depression.
This is an exciting opportunity for those wishing to practice as a CBT therapist and to work within a specialist CBT Team within the Centre for Specialist Psychological Therapies.

Qualifications
Essential
- An Honours Degree in Psychology recognised for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society, or RMN, OT or Social Worker qualification.
- Or An Honours degree level qualification in a mental health field, subject to specific suitability check.
- And Post-graduate qualifications in psychological assessment and psychological therapy appropriate to the designated pathway (e.g., Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, Post-graduate diploma in CBT, IAPT High Intensity CBT diploma, EMDR practitioner level qualification).
- And HCPC registered practitioner psychologist, or registered member of an appropriate professional body e.g., BABCP registered CBT practitioner.
- Or Registered member of an appropriate psychological professional body e.g., BABCP registered CBT therapist.
- Member of an appropriate professional body e.g., BACP, EMDR Association.
Experience
Essential
- Experience in psychological therapy in the field of the designated speciality, including assessment, formulation and interventions, drawing on a evidence based psychological models and knowledge, and including work with service users with mild, moderate, severe and enduring mental health problems, including psychosis and/or personality disorder.
- Experience of model-specific psychological assessment of clients across a wide range of care settings, and collaborative work with other professional groups, e.g., medical, nursing, social work.
Desirable
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
- Experience of the application of psychological therapy in different cultural contexts
- Experience of working with FND
- Experience of working with DID
Knowledge & Skills

- Skills in assessment and therapy using a CBT model.
