Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Lead working within the CYPS Ferndene Hospital.
There are three wards at Ferndene
Riding:
The Riding is a 10-bed ward at Ferndene Hospital who require assessment and treatment for either their Mental Health or Learning Disability between the ages of 13-18 years old. Four beds are for young people with psychiatric intensive care needs and six beds are for low secure environmental needs of young people. The latter of which has three beds for young people on the 'Learning Disability Pathway' and three beds on the 'Mental Health Pathway'.
Redburn:
Redburn is a 10 Bedded General Admission Unit, that provides assessment and treatment for young people aged between 13- 18 years. Redburn's patient group includes those with mainstream mental health disorders, eating disorders and/or disordered eating, Mild/moderate learning disability and/or Autism.
Stephenson:
Stephenson is a medium secure ward for children and young people. The young people from Stephenson have often been referred through the criminal justice pathway. Stephenson is a seven bedded unit and is a mixture of children suffering from mental health and learning disabilities.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as a member of the Multi-disciplinary Team ensuring that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting care and treatment to young people. Planning & Interventions, Reviews and Discharge Planning. You will act as a named nurse and support band 5 nurses within their role and within multidisciplinary team, developing coproduced, patient centred needs based care plans, through assessment, planning and implantation and evaluation. You will provide excellent professional, skilled and effective person centred evidence based nursing care. You will be actively involved in the health and wellbeing of staff, service users, families and carers. You will be visible and accessible to both patients, families and carers, working together to ensure efficient, effective safe and caring services. You will contribute to all performances indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes.
You will contribute to the education and development of the workforce and students.
You will participate in staff appraisals, supervisions and support personal development plans.
You will safely administer medications following trust polices and practice guidelines.
You will provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
As a clinical nurse lead you will also be involved in quality and performance, taking the lead on audits, link roles and supporting the ward manager.
