Job summary

Newcastle Treatment & Recovery (NTaR) currently have 3 Band 6 vacancies for experienced professionals to work full time in a service offering support to those experiencing substance misuse difficulties. The roles sit in Newcastle Treatment and Recovery Service based at Plummer Court Newcastle.

There are 2 x Adult posts and 1 x Criminal Justice Adult post.

Main duties of the job

This posts sit within the Adult Treatment Team and the post holder will deliver clinical based interventions to a caseload of adults who require support to achieve recovery from substance use.

The post holder will have a professional qualification; Registered Nurse (RMN /RGN/ RNMH or RNLD) or Social Work. The post holder will have post registration clinical experience in addictions services, excellent interpersonal skills and understand the importance of engagement with not only the client but their care givers and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the Assessment and Management of caseload of adult service users who have substantial and complex needs.

Provide specialist clinical advice to Service Users/Carers, staff, statutory agencies, 3rd sector partner agencies and the public.

In collaboration with the Service User and Carer where appropriate, develop Recovery and Wellbeing focused Care Plans, ensuring regular reviews to monitor progress and adapt Care Plan as necessary.

For the Criminal Justice post there is an expectation to attend probation and do some outreach work, experience of working within the criminal justice system would be advantageous but not essential and support and training will be provided.

This is not a hybrid role and there is an expectation to attend your base of work
