Job summary
You would work into a vacant core psychiatry/GP/Foundation training post.
Your role within the post would involve working within a multidisciplinary approach to provide: assessments (both of physical health and mental health) of the patients and contributing to the management plans of the patients.

Main duties of the job
Cleadon is an 18 bedded ward for assessment and treatment of older persons with mental health problems arising from functional disorders such as anxiety, depression, bipolar affective disorder and psychosis.
You will be working under supervision of consultant psychiatrist (Dr Paul Danson). The medical team also includes (part-time) specialty doctor, Foundation doctor (FY2) and a core trainee (CT). There is input from nurse consultant who is responsible clinician for some of the patients.
The team comprises of ward manager, nurses, occupational therapist, social worker, pharmacist and psychologist.
Your role will include attending to medical and psychiatric aspects of patents care under consultant supervision. You will be working closely with (part-time) COTE nurse who is based on the site. The ward has access to a weekly clinic by a visiting GP.
It is expected that you will be working closely with medical team on Cleadon as well as other wards on site (Roker and Mowbray- 2 organic older person wards) with expectation of reciprocal cross-cover. There is a day on-call rota and the successful candidate will be expected to join it.
