Job summary

We are excited to be able to advertise a new post within our service for a Carer Involvement lead. The successful post holder will work across North Cumbria working as part of a Multi Disciplinary Team with East and West Memory and Later Life Service.

Our service supports those patients who have concerns about their memory through assessment and diagnosis, providing post diagnostic support to patinets and their carers. Also those experiencing mental health problems with accompanying older age needs. Working closely with our partner agencies and third sector services.

Main duties of the job

The post holder in collaboration with the locality CBU will support the facilitation, co-ordination and development of involvement and engagement of carers across Memory and Later Life services within North Cumbria,

Working closely with the MDT to enable carers to support those they care for

There will be an requirement to deliver training to carers and staff within our service

Education and qualification

Essential

  • Educated to Degree Level, Post Graduate Diploma, or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Further training in Person centred planning, CBT techniques Registered Mental Health Nurse, Registered Occupational Therapist or Social worker

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Personal lived experience of mental health issues, or personal experience of caring for individual(s) who has experienced mental health issues Minimum of 3years experience working with non-statutory services and service user and carer groups in mental health Demonstrable experience in the development, co-ordination and delivery of training and education programmes Demonstrable experience in transformation and service improvement practice Considerable experience of wellbeing, resilience and recovery practice Proven experience of effective networking with a range of individuals and organisations and multi- agency working Understanding of quality issues and the ability to effectively apply these to NTW/Nursing/NJ/2039a service developments High level of understanding of mental health services, issues and current local and national policy with regards to involvement and participation Demonstrable ability to relate to both service users, carers and to health service managers at the most senior level Considerable experience in managing service user and carer information Experience in working with local communities
