Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Consultant Clinical Psychologist / Psychological Therapist for the community adult psychosis pathway (including Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) and At-Risk Mental State (ARMS) teams) in Gateshead and Newcastle (Central). This is an exciting time in community teams as the Transformation agenda progresses, the post holder will be part of shaping the teams and what interventions they deliver in years to come.
The post is the professional lead for a large team of psychologists, including Principal, Senior and newly qualified Psychologists. There are a broad range of psychological models deliver in the teams, including (but not exclusive to) CBT, CBT-p, Family Interventions, EMDR and CAT. The services have been proactive in developing treatment pathways and in providing training and scaffolding for colleagues around psychological interventions.
Main duties of the job
In addition to a skilled clinician, trained in a relevant evidence based therapy, we are also looking for a supervisor and leader who can help the team continue to develop their psychology service and offer. The post holder is a welcome and integral part of the wider leadership team, whilst changes in-line with Community Transformation are currently progressing in Central teams, building on existing provision and NHSE funded training courses.

- Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychological therapies, at least one distinct psychological therapy as accredited by the HCPC and British Psychological Society.

- Substantial post qualification experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment of clients across a range of care settings.
- Substantial further specialist training and experience, equivalent to at least 6 years' experience, including being able to demonstrate further specialist training and experience through having received a minimum of 50 hours clinical supervision of working as a clinical psychologist over a minimum of 18 months or an alternative agreed by the Psychological Services Professional Lead
- Substantial experience of providing clinical supervision.
