Job summary
We wish to recruit a Senior Clinical Psychologist or Senior Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist for our Specialist Children and Young People's Mental Health Services in North Cumbria (main base in Carlisle or Workington). The post is suitable for candidates with experience of working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist or Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist wishing to further develop their skills working with Children and young people with persistent, moderate to severe mental health disorders, and their families. We are particularly interested in candidates with an interest in children's mental health and eating disorders. We work closely with our Crisis, ADHD, and Children's Learning Disability colleagues.
Main duties of the job
You will be a Senior Psychologist or Senior Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist in an established multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for providing high quality evidence based psychological assessments, formulations and therapy to children, young people (up to the age of 18), and their families. You will be responsible for leading on psychological provision through consultations, MDTs, and supervision. You will provide advice, consultation and training to colleagues, and to other non-professional carers, on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care and treatment. You will support service development through audit and research.
In this role you will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures. We believe in the value of supervision you will be responsible for providing supervision to Psychologists, Trainee and Assistant Psychologist, or Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy trainees and CYPs Clinicians. You will also receive your own regular supervision and CPD opportunities.
The post is open to those Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists registered with the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) and they would become a member of the Trust wide Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy forum.
