Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Adult Community Mental Health team (Adult CTT, Community Treatment Team). We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to be part of our psychological intervention offer. We are recruiting an Assistant to support our work across pathways, supporting psychological interventions to service users under our Community Mental Health Services. We are a supportive group of psychological practitioners working as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT). Successful applicants will receive regular supervision and support from Clinical Psychologists and Psychological Therapists, support from other therapists and multi-disciplinary staff, peer support and CPD opportunities. As a team we offer a range of therapies as part of the MDT. We offer Community Mental Health treatments across North Cumbria to those presenting with significant mental health difficulties and offer an MDT approach to our interventions.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will offer and support varied work on well-established intervention pathways, supporting the provision of psychological interventions as part of the service offer.
Some of the roles that would be included within this post include:
- Clinical: 1:1 Psychological Interventions, including PSI (psycho-social interventions) and staying well plans, Group work alongside Clinical Psychologists, Psychological Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, or other members of the MDT who have received additional training, Joint assessments, Neuropsychological assessments.
- Support of psychological services: Observing/ shadowing/ supporting the work of the qualified therapists, team formulations and formulation meetings, teaching and training.
- Supporting our Service Development: data management, engaging service users regarding their attendance at groups, Psychological and MDT audits.
Working with and alongside a range of staff members including Clinical Psychologists, Psychological Therapists, Nurses, Social workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychiatrists, Support Workers, Peer Support Workers, Carers. Working with and alongside third sector agencies to provide psychological support to service users. To support safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing, maximising independence, provision of compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
