An opportunity has arisen within the Inpatients South Locality for a Ward Manager on Rose Lodge
Rose Lodge is a learning disability specialist assessment and treatment inpatient unit based in Hebburn, South Tyneside. Rose Lodge has 10 beds providing acute assessment and treatment by a multi-disciplinary team. All of the learning disability specialist assessment and treatment wards offer a multi-disciplinary approach (based on Bio-Psycho-Social Mode of Care) to care for adults aged 18 and over with learning disabilities and mental health problems or severely challenging behaviour.
The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership to support the nursing team and the MDT in providing the highest possible quality of care. The leadership provided by the post holder is crucial to efficient, effective, and caring services. Not only will the post holder be professionally accountable for standards of nursing care, they will also have responsibility for the ward environment and engagement with families and carers. The post is full time at 37.5hrs.
Main duties of the job
The post holder manages of all aspects of clinical standards and professionalpractice on the ward.
They manage and co-ordinate staff, budget, resources and the environment.
They lead and supervise the staff over a 24 hour period.
They are included in the on call rota as point of contact; to ensure provision of service and staffing across Trust sites.They demonstrate effective leadership, being visible and accessible to patients, families and carers which ensure efficient, effective and caring services.They account for the delivery of all performance indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes.
They develop and where appropriate deliver training packages to enhance the knowledge and skills of the workforce and students.They provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
