An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen within the Newcastle Treatment and Recovery (NTAR) Service to appoint a Clinical Lead/NMP to work within the Shared Care pathway.
Newcastle Treatment and Recovery is an ageless service for anyone in Newcastle experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol. Cumbria Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust are the lead provider in partnership with Humankind and Changing Lives under the name of NTAR.
The service is seeking a suitably qualified Clinical Lead for Shared Care pathway, which is a General Practice based service.
The clinical lead should be able to demonstrate transformational, agile leadership skills to a specialist, multi-disciplinary team. They will work as part of the collective leadership team within the service.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Lead/ NMP will be involved in Nurse led clinics based within General Practice (GP surgeries) across Newcastle, for the monitoring of medication. The NMP will work closely with the MDT and GP practice to ensure safe and effective practise.
The clinical lead will be responsible for providing support, advice and supervision to the multi disciplinary team and ensure efficient and safe delivery of clinical pathways.
The clinical lead will demonstrate excellent clinical skills and experience working with a diverse service user group who are affected by addiction to both alcohol and substances. They should have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of assessment and treatment of addiction and have a clear understanding of the NICE guidelines.
As part of the NMP aspect of their role they would offer medication reviews, and initiate medication within the pathway.
The successful post holder will be expected to demonstrate strong commitment to high quality client care, good organisational skills and be able to demonstrate prioritisation of workload.
