Job summary
We welcome applications from enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are keen to work in neuropsychology and develop skills and experience in this field.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve working as part of a neuropsychology team, supporting specialist assessment including cognitive and psychometric assessments, formulation and individual or group-based neuropsychological intervention.
This post offers experience of working with adults with acquired brain injury across settings and presenting the full range of clinical complexity.
The post holder may be required to support the delivery of neuro-rehabilitation groups designed to promote understanding of neurological conditions, cognitive problems and useful management strategies.
The role also includes completing functional analysis and other behavioural assessments and the development of behaviour management plans within a Positive Behaviour Support framework.
It is essential that applicants have previous experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist, of administering psychometric and cognitive assessment and of communicating assessment results and formulations to service users and the MDT in an understandable and accessible way. In addition, applicants should have experience of working in a highly emotive environment and of direct working with individuals who may be in distress. Furthermore, we are looking for applicants with the ability to effectively review and summarise large amounts of information to help to inform assessment and formulation. Previous experience of working with individuals with acquired brain injury is desirable but not essential.
About us
The post holder will be part of a well established neuropsychology team committed to delivering high quality services. This team is part of the neurological and specialist services within CNTW's South Locality.
We believe in the development of all our staff and the post holder will be encouraged to engage in continued professional development through training and studying.
We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
