Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and committed qualified mental health nurse to join the North Access CBU Psychiatric liaison team for older adults based at Wansbeck hospital and NSECH.
We are looking for a compassionate, caring, experienced, and confident nurse to join our well-established team who provide mental health assessments, liaison interventions and informal/formal education to the acute general hospital staff.
Main duties of the job
The candidate will have the skills to work in a fast paced environment, working across multiple sites alongside a variety of professionals.
The team function is to provide:
- Holistic timely biopsychosocial/risk assessments
- Care planning
- Carrying out liaison interventions
- Liaison between family, social care, health and ward staff
- Active participation within daily Multi-disciplinary team meetings
- Family and carer interventions
- Planning meetings with family , acute care staff , social care
We have a fantastic Clinical Reference Group for all CNTW Liaison Teams with biweekly teaching, dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist for the older adult's pathway, Clinical Nurse Specialist and supportive Clinical Leadership team.
Clinical and managerial supervision is provided and you may be in a position to supervise others such as clinical support workers and students.
