Job summary

Crisis Clinician working within the Working Age Pathway of the Newcastle and Gateshead Universal Crisis Team.

1 Permanent position

1 Fixed Term position - 12 months

The Universal Crisis Team for Newcastle and Gateshead are in a position to expand and are therefore looking to recruit motivated and committed individuals into the Working Age Adult Pathway.

The Working Age Adult Pathway have multiple Full Time Vacancies - based at St Nicholas Hospital

The post holder will be part of a team working under the crisis model and pathway, offering a 24/7 service as an alternative to hospital admission. The successful candidate must have experience of working with adults and ideally have a track record of clinical experience in working with risk and complexity.

The role requires sound clinical skills in all aspects of triage, assessment, formulation, management of risk and therapeutic interventions.

This will be an extremely exciting opportunity for any successful candidate and you will be joining an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated team who are HTAS accredited.

The universal Crisis Team offers a dynamic and exciting work environment that can be both challenging and rewarding. You would be working within a multi disciplinary team that are motivated in delivering high quality care for patients at home.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be expected to complete all aspects of Crisis work, including the triaging of referrals, completion of holistic and comprehensive assessments and the treatment of patients who are in mental health crisis within their home environment.

  • First Level Registered Nurse RNMH, RMN, RNLD or equivalent first level qualification e.g. Social Worker OT, Clinical Psychologist, other
  • Evidence of post-registration training in clinical/ psychological interventions / skills relevant to the post
  • Proven track record of post registration clinical experience

Desirable

  • Mentor Training.

Knowledge

Essential

  • . Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, NMC standards and other local and national initiatives.
  • 12-24 months minimum experience post registration.

Desirable
